When her Deaf mother gets cancer, a middle-aged woman moves back into her childhood room with two questions: “Where is God?” and “Who took my KISS poster?!” Aiming for Sainthood (commissioned by 16th Street) is part two of Malinowski’s trilogy beginning with What Does the Sun Sound Like?, the totally true tales of a hearing daughter growing up in a Deaf family and culture.

See both shows on Saturday July 12 & 19.  Dinner packages available.  Call (708) 795-6704

Sign language interpretation of both shows: July 19.

Arlene Malinowski is an actor/playwright whose solo shows have been produced in venues nationwide and has been honored with an LA Theatre Ovations nomination, an LA Weekly Award and a Garland Award.  Arlene is also a writer/performer with the nationally touring, multicultural show A Slice of Rice, Frijoles & Greens, a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists, and a founding member of the literary ensemble In So Many Words. Arlene’s stories are told through sign language and voice inviting the audience to share a world beyond their experience.
