| Jessie Affelder recently joined the board of the 16th Street Theater, and is honored to serve such a talented group.
A lifelong learner, she recently completed her Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Illinois Chicago, holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Video and Time Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Dominican University. For the past three years, she has served on the board of Oak Park Festival Theatre. Jessie has been a member of the Chicago Dramatists Playwright's Network, attended the Timberlake Playwright's Colony and the Lake Geneva Playwright's Sleepover. She is a producer for Kevin Flecton Co., with recent projects including Chow's Chinese by Jeff Jones.
Since the age of five, she has been involved on stage, in television and film, and has attended lots of really crazy cast parties. Favorite television roles include The White Girl in The People Next Door and Nude Woman in Janice Tanaka's Beaver Valley. On stage, she enjoyed playing Mildred in Way Off Broadway Players' Murder In the Stacks, Portia in Julius Caesar with Dunes Shakespeare Repertory, and Madame Pernelle in Indiana University Northwest's Tartuffe.
