Ann Boyd is a director, choreographer, writer, visual artist and teacher. She was a founder and the artistic director for the award-winning interdisciplinary theater company Running With Scissors. Boyd has directed choreographed and/or adapted novels for the stage at Lifeline Theater, for Powertap Productions, Steppenwolf Arts Exchange, Prop Theater, and Redmoon Theater.
Most recently Boyd received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she focused on multi-media performance that examines the relationship between the mundane and the sublime, and the dialogue between performer and audience. This fall she will be teaching movement for actors at Columbia College and classes in solo performance and adaptation at the University of Chicago.
She is also currently performing Naguales, a coming of age modern fairy-tale she wrote and performs with Ni'Ja Whitson for Urban Gateways' touring program. |
