Lucinda Z. Alipio hails from the biggest little city in the world: Reno, Nevada. Moving to Chicago nearly 2 and half years ago to pursue a career in theatre, she is happy to be working with 16th Street Theatre. After achieving her BA in Liberal Arts, with Theatre and Dance from the University of Nevada, Reno she decided that Chicago was the place to make her dreams come true.
Originally on the path to only directing Lucinda had also discovered she had a passion for producing and experimental theatre as well. Being new to the city she volunteered a lot and found that stage management was the best way to get to know many theatres. Being an organized director, stage management was and easy fit for her.
She has "toe-dipped" in many technical aspects of theatre including, costume design, lighting design, prop design, sound design, and choreography. Although, she enjoys performing, her love of theatre is behind the scenes.
Most recently she has worked with Timeline Theatre, The Chicago Improv Festival, Scholarship Chicago, 20%Theatre, and Around the Coyote. Lucinda's next directed work will appear in 20%Theatre's, Snapshots Festival, at Strawdog in August. |
