Kirsten D’Aurelio is thrilled to be back at 16th Street, where she was seen in 2009 portraying 5 men and 2 women in “Fires in the Mirror”. Other real people she’s played onstage recently include silent film star Beverly Bayne (“Sounds of Silents: The Essanay Years” at Prop THTR) and poet Edna St. Vincent Millay (“Dear Editor”, Poetry Magazine at the Cathedral, where she shared the stage with former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins).
This past spring, Kirsten appeared as Maddy in the critically-acclaimed production of “People We Know” at the side project in Rogers Park. Kirsten has been seen gallivanting in New York’s Central Park as Lina in Shaw’s “Misalliance”, shouting Luciana’s lines in “Comedy of Errors” over downtown helicopter noise for Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival, and performing on many Chicago stages over the past 20 years, including Victory Gardens, the Illinois Humanities Festival, and Chicago Dramatists (where she’s an Associate Artist.) Kirsten holds degrees in theater from both Indiana University and the University of California-Irvine. |
