Gina is delighted to be working with 16th Street Theater in Berwyn, the city that's been home to her family for twenty years. A graduate of Berwyn public schools, she received her B.A. in Theatre from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, where she focused on performance and dramatic literature. At Grinnell, she worked as actor, director, or dramaturg on a variety of department productions and student projects. She also spent a semester studying theatre, art history, along with some of her own ancestry in Florence and London.
Gina's time at Grinnell culminated in her collaborating with a friend to launch a course in playwriting and dramatic literature for individuals incarcerated at Iowa's Newton Correctional Facility. She recently returned home after a year of AmeriCorps service in and around Providence, Rhode Island, where she worked as a Program Coordinator for nonprofit juvenile justice and community arts organizations.
Coming back to the area, one of the last things Gina expected to find was Ann Filmer starting up a new equity theatre in Berwyn.
Gina loves surprises. Talk about a pleasant one. |
